Thank you for saving lives!
We want to say thank you to our Lubbock community for being heroes to every individual whose life depends on blood donations for lifesaving medical care.
When the American Red Cross issued an emergency call for blood donations this summer, Drs. Hill and Ioppolo rallied our team to partner with United Blood Services for a community blood drive. We made it fun and festive by giving every donor a tote bag and sunglasses, and our staff got all dressed up in a Hawaiian theme— but it’s you, the volunteers from our community, that made this event a success! We are thrilled that there was such a spectacular showing and that United Blood Services was able to collect 27 pints of blood from 24 blood donors. This amount of donated blood can save up to 81 lives!
Our blood drive is an annual event, so we hope we can count on you to join us again next year. Donors are needed constantly, year-round, because blood is perishable (and there is no substitute for it). For more information on our annual blood drive, visit our Facebook page. We can’t wait until next year!
